Why is it so great?
This beautiful yellow drink is able to reduce inflammation, naturally detoxify and cleanse your body while still being a warm and yummy winter Drink. The main and most important ingredients to this are Turmeric and Ginger. Turmeric and Ginger both are some major superfoods with so many amazing health benefits to them. Turmeric has anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which make it so so important especially in the colder months. Ginger is not only important for our immune system it also can help with bad digestion and calm stomach cramps.
What you need?
- one small root of fresh turmeric
- about an inch of a root of fresh ginger
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk – whatever you prefer)
- 1 Tablespoon of 100% organic coconut oil
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
- 1-2 Tablespoons of Honey (depending how sweet you want it)
- 1/2 Teaspoon of scraped fresh vanilla pod
- A high speed Blender (I prefer the Vitamix)
How to make it?
- First chop up a small root of turmeric and add it into your blender
- Chop up the ginger and put it into the blender
- Add the Vanilla
- Add the cinnamon
- Add a little bit of water
- Blend Blend Blend until you get a thick paste
- (you can make more of the paste and keep it in the fridge for a few days so you just have to add the wet ingredients to it to make the making of the Golden Milk easier and a lot quicker)
- Add in your coconut oil and blend again
- Then add the honey to your mixture and blend
- Add in the almond Milk and blend until smooth
- Taste test and add anything your taste desires 🙂
- Cook it up for about 5 Minutes on medium heat
- Serve and enjoy!
Drink this first thing in the morning and your digestion will be great all day. It will also boost your metabolism in the morning to keep you away from those chocolate and cookie craving throughout the day.
